The new\u202fSilkimya\u202fchemical plant\u202fis\u202flocated in\u202fthe\u202findustrial corridor of Altamira, in southern Tamaulipas (Mexico). <\/p>\n\n
The location in the Altamira industrial corridor offers significant logistical advantages and a privileged position for the efficient distribution of products to national and international markets.<\/p>\n\n
It is estimated that the plant will be able to produce 12,000 tonnes of precipitated silica in a first phase and up to 25,000 to 30,000 tonnes in a second phase. <\/p>\n\n
Today, total consumption of precipitated silica in Mexico is 70,000 tonnes, much of which comes from the US and China. As a result, sectors such as the wheel industry\u202fare looking\u202fforward to near-shoring the production of this product. <\/p>\n\n
The plant will bring\u202fa\u202fnew line of business to the region and create jobs throughout the conurbation. <\/p>\n\n
There are also plans to export from this factory for marketing in America. <\/p>\n\n
The Silkimya plant in Altamira is a strategic investment that will strengthen the local economy, create jobs and position Tamaulipas as a key centre in the international chemical industry. <\/p>\n\n
