Agriculture

Silicon is a trace element required by many plants. In addition to its role as a source of soluble silicon, amorphous precipitated silica enables moisture control in plants by compensating for variations in plant moisture Presented as a very fine powder, our silicas are suitable for suspension, spraying and dry dusting.

In addition, especially for wettable powders (WP), silica is an excellent grinding aid, active ingredient carrier or fluidising agent in products with a tendency to cake. It can also be used in other forms such as granules, particularly for flow control.

Silica has a high absorption capacity, especially of moisture, which prevents caking under conditions of high humidity and temperature, although longer periods or temperatures require higher and higher doses.

Reforsil®

Precipitated silica from the Reforsil® range have a wide range of applications, the most important of which is in the reinforcement of elastomers, especially synthetic rubbers. However, silica is also used in other sectors such as the food industry, both human and animal, as a technological additive with anti-caking and/or fluidising properties, as a carrier for flavourings or other additives or active liquid substances, in agriculture as a milling aid or carrier, and in other sectors as diverse as the pharmaceutical industry or the paint and varnish industry.

As the name suggests, their main role is in rubber reinforcement, but the applications of these products are very wide.
